"Bringing together interactive technology
and expert medical advice, Interactive Eurohealth aims
to bring better understanding and management of chronic
health conditions to patients, carers and non-specialist
professionals."
The Managing Your Health series was developed by a consortium
under the auspices of the European Commission EUREKA project,
European Health Education (Eurohealth). The consortium
consisted of three hospitals, a communications consultancy
and an interactive multimedia developer.
The project was initiated by the Diabetes Centre of Ipswich
Hospital under its Director Dr John L Day MB, BS, MD,
FRCP together with Dr Gerry Rayman MD, FRCP, who recognised
the potential of interactive multimedia for patient education
in diabetes.
Other participants in the project have been the Hospitalari
del Parc Tauli, Spain, the University Hospital of Leipzig
and Norcontel (Ireland) Ltd, a communications consultancy.
The programmes have been designed and produced by Quay
Interactive Ltd, a multimedia production company.
